The hostel is situated right next to our lovely sandy beach. At Styrsö Havsbad you don’t need to worry about sharp Japanese oysters on the seabed because we have an extremely fine sandy beach that is very child friendly.
Sandy beach and diving platform
A short distance off shore there’s a jetty with a swimming ladder and a floating jetty with a diving platform. Naturally the beach itself is perfect for both games and sunbathing.
Swimming from the rocks
If you’d rather swim from the rocks there are lots of places to do that ”round the corner”. Just follow the shoreline and you’ll find lovely places to sunbathe and swim. Maybe even a small cove of your own?
Other services at Styrsö Havsbad
There are dry toilets and rubbish bins by the hostel. As access to water is limited there are unfortunately no showers. [DH1] Sometimes the kiosk is open, but at irregular times (see the notices).
You can get to the island and beach on the Koster ferries from Strömstad (see timetable for Västtrafik’s line 899) or on your own boat. There’s a jetty for guest boats right next to the beach. During high season a food kiosk also opens on the beach at Styrsö Havsbad.
